I used 'Message Journaling' in Exchange 5.5 for that, but it required using Outlook to archive the messages out of the Exchange store to .pst files. Haven't used it for Exchange 2000, though. They may have improved it. Google 'Exchange x journaling' (where x is your version) for lots of info on how to set up native Exchange journaling and for 3rd party tools as well. Glenn Pearl

would audit and archive
inbound and outbound mail, I remembered that there is another category
of email that has to be
taken into account .. internal email between users of a MS Exchange
server.
I'm assuming the email security appliances don't handle internal MS
Exchange mail, or would my
assumption be wrong? Any ideas on how best audit and archive those emails, along with all
inbound and outbound
activity in front of the MS Exchange server itself? Thanks! Mark
