RE: Security+ Advice

Hi,

I did the Security+ certification exam earlier this year. It helped that
I'd done the CISSP and CISA exams already, but I found Security+ just a little
more technical and less broad than CISSP/CISA.

I got the Microsoft Press Security+ certification book that was quite helpful,
and likewise - I passed first try also.

Cheers,

I liked Syngress's book, and I passed first try.
http://www.syngress.com/catalog/sg_main.cfm?pid=2360 They also have the
70-214 study guide. http://www.syngress.com/catalog/sg_main.cfm?pid=2460

Subject: Security+ Advice

I am a System Admin of 6 years with a MCSE, CNE, and CCNA. I would like
to
begin a transition into the security side of IT, and figure that the
Security+ certification would be a good place to start. Also I can use
Security+ it
for credit
toward the new "MCSE +Security" which makes it extra useful. I am confident
I have a good foundation in security, but would like to hear some
recommendations from the list members on books they may have used for the
Security+.

Thanks,
Stephen G.
