^ Such questions as this beg for worthless flame wars. Anything is only as secure as the administrator makes it. Get the service for what it provides you, and then work on security (the more important thing anyway) on your own. Remember, service x might be less secure than service y, but they both have to go through a hardware step to get to your computer. That gives you the opportunity to secure your system on your own, so do take advantage thereof.
