UTF-8 SSIDs in 802.11

Hi folks, Someone has suggested that perhaps this is not appropriate: gchar *ssid; /* The SSID may consist of arbitrary bytes */ because if the UTF-8 SSID subfield of the Extended Capabilities param is set, we can expect UTF8 in the SSID field. Does it make a difference whether we use gchar *ssid or guchar *ssid above? -- Regards, Richard Sharpe (何以解憂?唯有杜康。--曹操) ___________________________________________________________________________ Sent via: Wireshark-dev mailing list <wireshark-dev () wireshark org> Archives: https://www.wireshark.org/lists/wireshark-dev Unsubscribe: https://www.wireshark.org/mailman/options/wireshark-dev mailto:wireshark-dev-request () wireshark org?subject=unsubscribe
