Thanks for the reply. My question is generic one. Suppose i want to know the supported version of any protocol is there any way to know that. From the supported protocol list we can know only the protocol name those are supported but not the version. Not really, unless the person(s) submitting dissectors or updates puts the protocol version in a comment or in the bug/commit message. Often updates are related to only specific IEs or parts of protocols so I suppose lots of protocols with frequent updates ( like the 3GPP ones) may only be partly compliant to any specific release. For the ASN1 based protocols the version is available in the ASN1 sources. On the other hand I do not know to what extent the 3GPP protocols changes between minor releases. As there is a lot of Wireshark users in the Telecom world I would imagine that we'd receive bug reports if there was major problems with any protocol decode. You may have to be prepared to use the development version to have the most up to date protocol decode. So is there any way to know the version?

But as it's an evolution of the protocol I would say that most part probably is covered. And even of some parts are not you can probably get a lot out of the traces any way. If you find things missing or wrong you can write a bug report and enclose a capure file and it will (eventually) get fixed :-) Regards Anders ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *From:* wireshark-users-bounces () wireshark org <mailto:wireshark-users-bounces () wireshark org> [mailto:wireshark-users-bounces () wireshark org <mailto:wireshark-users-bounces () wireshark org>] *On Behalf Of *Sabyasachi Samal *Sent:* den 10 augusti 2010 11:43 *To:* wireshark-users () wireshark org <mailto:wireshark-users () wireshark org> *Subject:* [Wireshark-users] Support for GTP Version Hi, Can anyone let me know which version of GTP is supported in wire shark Version 1.4.0rc1 ?
