Quick update, the technet article says this behaviour times out after 1
hour. I wish. It's now near enough 2hrs, and we're still at 100%
utilization.

Subject: Microsoft SMS 100% Processor utilization

Hey all,
Preliminary post, I'm just about to do more
investigation into this (I also have the added incentive that
MS refuse to help me :).

Refer to TechNet Q225507. According to this article,
the 100% processor utilization is exhibited by SMS 2.0 and
fixed in SP1, the fix is to upgrade to SP2. We already have
SP2 installed, and have just experienced this behaviour on
the master server, which has become near enough unusable.

All the relevant details are in the above Q article.
What makes this strange is it apparently happened "of it's
own accord" - SMS has been running here for a year & more
with no problem. I'll see if I can re-create it, and turn it
into a DoS.

If anyone else has experienced this, plz mail me, as I
also kinda need the server working again ;)

Tnx!
