Which would introduce some of the "slowness" in TCP. Once you make UDP into something more complex, you loose some of the benefits UDP offers.
Yeah, right, but introducing an "handshake" before sending game data would slow up the process so much? I do not believe so.
Sadly it seems that scriptkidz cannot accept that the services offered by internet games are dependent upon lack of abuse.

but what drives some small, pathetic, human into bring down *games*??
It seems that you miss the point that using games as flooders is not a DOS directed against game servers, but against other net users. Games server are DOSsed as a side-effect, in fact. The impulse which drives the "small pathetic humans" is always the same. Need to demonstrate they have bigger guns than anyone else.
