On my home machine, I run Redhat, and I knew I came across such functionality, so I looked around... http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/magicdev.html http://www.ccs.neu.edu/home/bchafy/magicdev.html Little documentation with it, but the latter page fills in the gaps.
