okay. I did a: git-cvsimport on both libpcap and tcpdump.
Unless I'm missing something, a lot of the history seems to have gotten lost. For example, "git log pcap-bpf.c" shows:
commit a9ff5b3dcf3eb90f519c70b4be5cd202190b6ce9 Author: Michael Richardson <mcr () sandelman ca> Date: Sun Nov 9 17:57:45 2008 -0500replaced CVS/RCS $Header tags with non-active version, leave the strings in, and SCCS what tags.commit a46e7e14dbce2eab3ac7383049f09cb52e7b4ed4 Author: guy <guy> Date: Tue Sep 16 18:43:02 2008 +0000 Only set the cleanup and set/get nonblocking mode handlers to thezerocopy handlers when we decide to use zerocopy mode. That means theydon't need to check whether zerocopy mode is being used.
...
commit 9953f7164550ca12d8cc1e9f552d65672ebbef03 Author: guy <guy> Date: Wed Dec 5 23:38:11 2007 +0000Don't assume that p->fcode.bpf_insns remains unchanged while processing a bufferfull of packets - it could get changed in a callback routine.commit 367449abb696694ef0d1ad23d0a54afe9aa690a5 Author: mcr <mcr> Date: Thu Oct 7 23:46:40 1999 +0000 pcap-0.4
so it appears to have lost about 8 years of history.It looks as if it might have just grabbed the checkins on the libpcap_1_0 branch, rather than on the main branch.
