I don't have performed any significant performance intensive test. The memory mapped save to the capture code a copy of 
the full data (header included). Moreover it allow to receive multiple packet with only one system call, while the 
'normal' path use a system call for each packet. The issue is I don't have any usb device suitable to stress the 
receive code.

host on which the capture was done,

I did not know this. Can you plase explain me how ? (So, if this is the way, I can update the wireshark dissector 
accordingly).
