This looks like Debian bug #255179, I fixed it differently by not trying to analyze IPV6CP, a comment in print-ppp.c says that it's not supported (yet). http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=255179&archive=yes Corresponding fix currently in the Debian package (notice how the IPV6CP case is outside #ifdef INET6, too):
While this does solve the problem for IPV6CP, there are now other ways for the code to reach this point - i.e other protocols - and just applying this check would leave tcpdump vulnerable to crashing if it encountered one of those.
