We could *add* a *new* DLT_ value with the name you suggest,

That's what I'll do. Linux wouldn't be able to use it until a new
ARPHRD_ value is introduced, but BSD could use it whenever they're
willing to add it.

I've checked it in, with the name DLT_IEEE802_11_RADIO (if anybody
prefers, say, DLT_WLAN_HEADER, as per the Ethereal name for it inside
its capture-file-reading routines, speak up soon), and the value 127.

I've also checked in a change to Ethereal to map it to
WTAP_ENCAP_WLAN_HEADER.

I will look at adding libpcap support (probably initially with the
header length hardwired in; if, as, and when I get around to adding
support for variable-length link-layer headers, I'll look at adding
support for that as well - please ensure that the header length field in
the header continues to be the header length, so that BPF code can
continue to test it!) and tcpdump support soon.
