So when I try to open the snortrules-snapshot-2990.tar.gz file I get the following error: $tar -zxvf snortrules-snapshot-2990.tar.gz gzip: stdin: not in gzip format tar: Child returned status 1 tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now Using the community rules file works just fine. Another thing I noticed was that the checksums on the website and the downloaded file don't match but the community file does. On the site: *7*ea512954770ad925b784167c5e7a77b snortrules-snapshot-2990.tar.gz Downloaded: b271b245c13eb3b9fc9360d81e728daf snortrules-snapshot-2990.tar.gz So I don't know if it has something to do with that or maybe I'm just bad at computers. Running CentOS 7 if that matters. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ Snort-users mailing list Snort-users () lists sourceforge net Go to this URL to change user options or unsubscribe: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/snort-users Snort-users list archive: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_name=snort-users Please visit http://blog.snort.org to stay current on all the latest Snort news!
