check your snort.conf and ensure that that is the proper directory... i don't 
recall it starting with an underscore as you show...

you may need to uninstall, clean the director(y|ies) and then reinstall... 
installing /should/ populate the director(y|ies)... but i don't know how the 
install routine is written so it may not if parts are still installed...
