Barnyard and event logging to MySQL and BASE

I have a fresh install. I have never deleted any alerts.

When Barnyard2starts it states:    'record_idx      = 4317'

Is this the number of alerts found in the log files, and should all these
alerts be logged to BASE as alerts?

I'm thinking this '    record_idx      = 4317' number should match the
number of alerts showing in BASE?
