Actually...SF didn't break anything. 

The decision maker that allowed arbitrary system changes without appropriate governance controls probably ended up with 
some issues.

Admittedly, with today's economy, things like QA are experiencing budgetary challenges. However, transferring the risk 
of those decisions to a vendor's standard update process may carry some unforeseen consequences.
