Is there a way to get dmesg to report Date and time group instead of the millisecond or seconds it does show?

The segfaults i exerpienced were resolved by manual download, build and installation of the latest libraries ( not more 
detail at this point, sorry )

I recently flattened a troublesome device so that I could do some partitioning in Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS.  I am using Snort 
2.9.0.3 and Barnyard2 1.9.

The system will run for a little while and unfortunately the dmesg command does not give Date Time Grouping so I cannot 
tell exactly how long it has been down but here are the last few messages

[   26.672279] device eth1 entered promiscuous mode

[57197.320792] device eth1 left promiscuous mode
