It did thanks. Good thing I accidently posted to the emergingthreats instead
of snort users on my last one (force of habit). Strange though that this
worked before for snort-2.9.0.3 and now a symlink was needed to get it
working for 2.9.0.4 (running fedora 14, quite new install).

You have no /usr/lib/libdnet.1, only libdnet.so.1 in /usr/lib.  Perhaps 'ln
-s
