Is it possible to get you to expand further on your answer. Maybe, possibly including a short time frame. Like this month, this quarter, April 8th 2010, etc... :) Thanks, Andy -----Original Message----- From: Nigel Houghton [mailto:nhoughton () sourcefire com] Sent: Wednesday, April 07, 2010 11:29 AM To: Andy Berryman Cc: Matt Olney; snort-users () lists sourceforge net Subject: Re: [Snort-users] Worth upgrading from 2.8.5.2 to 2.8.5.3? At this point I'd say wait for 2.8.6. Matt On Wed, Apr 7, 2010 at 10:47 AM, Andy Berryman <aberryman () cymtec com> wrote: Is it worth the upgrade from 2.8.5.2 to 2.8.5.3? Only thing I see in the README on snort.org is: "2010-02-12 - Snort 2.8.5.3 [*] Improvements * General code improvements and clean up in the rpc preprocessor related to the processing of Sun rpc data. * Fixed an issue where, under particular conditions, a reload of the Snort configuration file without a restart would cause Snort to stop responding." Doesn't seem like it's worth it if you aren't using the RPC or reloading of the config file.
