Hello,
There were a few changes to the installation of Snort on OS X between 2.3.X
and 2.8.X. Check the doc/INSTALL and go to the MAC section.

Two that come to mind are:
$ export LD_TWOLEVEL_NAMESPACE=1
$ export MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET=10.5  -(change 10.5 to your OS version)
