I have a 2.6.0 document out there now. It is based off a minimal install of CentOS 4.3 and then all the components needed are installed via yum. It also has a section to setup NTOP off the dag yum repository. That is another neat tool if you have never played with it. Please send feedback to me if you find any errors or typos. http://www.internetsecurityguru.com/documents/Snort_Base_Minimal.pdf Also, I started using CentOS about a year or so ago. CentOS is a clone of RHEL (Redhat Enterprise Linux) and actually built from the SRPM'S that RHEL is with the logos replaced with CentOS logos. It should work fine with Fedora and RHEL with very little modification. If you are loading on Fedora or RHEL and see something you think might be useful for others let me know please. If time allows I am going to do an install on both RHEL and Fedora this coming weekend and make some notes.
