log packet files

Hi,

I need to use snort as packet logger. I need to log the traffic in the
bynary format and in one unique file.
I have used the following command:

snort -dv -b -l /usr/snort/log -i eth1 -h 192.168.182.0/24

but the traffic is logged some times in the snort.log file, and some times
in the format with the IP of the hosts.
Why? Anyone can help me?
