There are currently no plans to add this support back into Snort.
There are however a couple of other options for you. Glenn Mansfield
Keeni maintains the SnortSnmp patch, which as of his last post could
be found at
http://www.cysol.co.jp/contrib/snortsnmp/SnortSnmpMod-2.2.0-01.tgz.
Barnyard is also another option.
