Updated to Snort 2.2.0 and now nothing is being written to Acid

I just updated to Snort 2.2.0 on RH 9.0 and now I am geting nothing written 
to ACID. I've updated the snort.conf with the required parameters including:

output database: log, mysql, user=snort password=password dbname=snort 
host=localhost

Am I missing something here?
