Looks like your error message is for MS SQL not MySql.

 

Do you need to change your snort.conf to use an MySql database??

I am using gentoo and tried emerging SNORT but it will not work with
MYSQL. I unmerged SNORT and downloaded a newer version of snort and
compiled it --with-mysql=/usr/lib/mysql but when I try to start snort I
get the following message:


Jan  6 09:26:41 ids snort: database: 'mssql' support is not compiled
into this build of snort 
Jan  6 09:26:41 ids snort: FATAL ERROR: If this build of snort was
obtained as a binary distribution (e.g., rpm, or Windows), then check
for alternate builds that contains the necessary 'mssql' support.  If
this build of snort was compiled by you, then re-run the the ./configure
script using the '--with-mssql' switch. 

My compile messages look like this: 

./configure --with-mysql
