Do you want to log to a mysql db? if you don't, then check for a "output:
database" line in your snort.conf file and comment it out. Otherwise, I've
noticed that when you do a ./configure and forget something and do it
again, it doesn't really reflect those changes. Try deleting the Makefile
before doing ./configure --with-mysql=<mysql dir> . I fixed this problem
by removing the whole snort directory and unpacking the tarball again, but
deleting the Makefile might be enough.
