Is there any way to clear up the alert database without using acid?
I suppose you could drop the database and then recreate it if you truly don't care about that info. That's rather extreme, but so is sitting there for 2 hours waiting for your alerts to get deleted. If you aren't willing to do that I'd just hit delete and go to bed.
