snort doesn't write to mysql

Thank you Josh - I'm embarrassed to say, that was it.  I knew command
line options overrode config files - I didn't know that the alertmode
option would override the database output settings specifically.  Maybe
this would be a good one for the FAQs?  Or am I one of the few who have
fallen into this mistake?
