Barnyard

'm working with barnyard and having a problem.

This is a Sun SPARC 64-bit machine running mysql-max-4.0.14. I
installed this as a Solaris package from sunfreeware.com. The barnyard
configure script reports that file "mysql_connect" is missing and says
it can't find the mysqlclient library. I've got it looking in correctly
in the /opt/local/mysql/lib dir, but there is no file "mysql_connect"
anywhere on my system.

The Q's are:
Why not (I'm guessing that the Solaris package didn't include the
devel component)
What do I do now? Do I have to trash the instance of mysql and
build from source?
