The reason I said it could be a problem with the WLAN is that if you are not connecting to the WLAN and the WLAN is WEP-enabled, you would only see the 802.11 packets and nothing IP. (I think) Tyler

I changed the adapter and it works fine. but why would connecting to a WLAN be a problem? Shouldn't it see the traffic coming to IP address of the wireless adapter atleast? Have not tried windump.
