Here is my TEST scenario: I am using Red Hat Linux as my sensor and want to use Windows 2000 as my console for viewing and reporting errors. I think I can get the Linux box configured to to sniff packet, but how do I configure the console on Windows 2000? What applications will I need to install?
Depends on the frontend you want. You could use ACID, SGUIL or DeMarc (Puresecure). ACID and Demarc both use a browswer, so that would work. SGUIL uses Tcl/Tk to form the frontend so it would work as well. [0]
Also, is there a way to get a preconfigured install for the Red Hat installation?
Nope. But there's quite a few docs on the subject [1]. Cheers! ----- Erek Adams "When things get weird, the weird turn pro." H.S.
