I have barnyard setup and running. I have it logging to my MySQL server. Now I'm trying to get it to log to syslog so I can run swatch against it for realtime email alerting for high priority alerts. My syntax in the barnyard.conf is output alert_syslog: LOG_AUTH LOG_ALERT Nothing is showing up in my syslog. Any thoughts?
Yep. Add that to the .conf file for _Snort_, since that's the one that's really doing the alerting. echo "output alert_syslog: LOG_AUTH LOG_ALERT" >> /etc/snort.conf Cheers! ----- Erek Adams "When things get weird, the weird turn pro."
