SNort performance at gigabit speeds

Hi all,

I just saw Sourfire IDS product details on their
website. They are using snort as the IDS engine. They
claim to operate over 1GBPS speeds with snort, how can
we make snort working at Gigabit speeds.

Any experiences, issues, performance, caveats,
configuration?
