Dynamic rule "injection"

ive recently come across a "deep thoughts by martin" email here: http://archives.neohapsis.com/archives/snort/2000-03/0392.html as someone who understands the rule nodes (from AI development w/ alice) it seems like the same problem ... but what id like is very much for snort to be able to listen for new rulesets + dynamically allocate them directly into memory with the same idea, an ***example: listen tcp $CENTRAL 9999 -> $VOID 9999 (content: "[public/shared key][rule][hash]";) basically letting snort listen on the wire for dynamic changes + injecting new rules. any thoughts on this? has it been proposed before? does another mailing list deal w/ this? - jon ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: Free pre-built ASP.NET sites including Data Reports, E-commerce, Portals, and Forums are available now.
