hmm I think you have not go through yet README file.  You will have to copy
rules folder + snort.conf manually .

you can copy rules folder to to /etc/snort like that
cp -R yoursnortsource/rules /etc/snort/
cp yoursnortsource/etc/snort.conf  /etc/snort/snort.conf
