Gigabit Fiber cards for use with fiber tap

Does anyone have any experience using Intel Pro 1000/F (SX) Fiber cards in conjuction with a Gigabit Fiber Tap with snort on Linux? We're basically looking for a card that we will know will work 100% with a fiber tap because the Netgear GA621 cards we have will only work if both the TX and RX ports are plugged in, and we need a card that will work with only the RX port plugged in. We haven't been able to get a definite response from any vendor, so if you have any experience, please let me know. Thanks!
