If you're using Windows, try IDScenter's AutoBlock feature
(www.packx.net) .. currently supporting Network ICE BlackICE.. but's
it's extensible
for your firewall, when you write a plugin (Delphi plugin framework is
provided with the installer). It's clear that scanning the logs for IP's
isn't such
perfect as adding a plugin to Snort / using Hogwash to kill/block
network traffic, but it prevent's at least large scannings / can be used
to prevent further attacks.
