I was wondering if anyone has used snortsnarf and if it took a long time to create the html files. I run snortsnarf.pl and i get these errors Using an array as a reference is deprecated at include/SnortSnarf/HTMLMemStorage.pm line 290. Using an array as a reference is deprecated at include/SnortSnarf/HTMLAnomMemStorage.pm line 266.
The messages above are independent of the SnortSnarf run time. SnortSnarf's run time is mainly dependant on how many alerts you give it to process (the number in your input file/database minus those you exclude by using an input filter), how much RAM you have, and your CPU speed.
The messages are actually warnings from perl, not errors. Perl 5.8.0 (or later) is just giving a warning that 2 parts of the SnortSnarf code using something which may be removed in future Perl releases. I plan to change that in the next release. You should be able to suppress these warnings by removing '-w' from the first line of snortsnarf.pl.
