Problem Description:
When I attempt to start the service using the command "service snort start"
I get the following error:

Starting Intrusion Database System: SNORT
/etc/init.d/snort: pidof: command not found
You might want to check that /sbin is in your path (or substitute the
pidof call with /sbin/pidof) and that pidof is installed, as that seems
to causing the error in your startup script.
Something like /sbin/pidof bash
should tell you the pids of your bash sessions. Assuming you run bash,
of course, and that pidof indeed is in /sbin ;)

Cheers,

Joerg
