Hello Erek

A little bit out of Snort scope: i'm using swatch to mail the alerts too,
but the throttle option is not working and i saw you are using it in your
script!

That's my script actually :-)

I've tried to use it the same way but it fails when hit the line

perlcode my
$timestamp_regex="^[A-Z][a-z]{2}\s+\d{1,2}\s+\d{1,2}:\d{1,2}:\d{1,2}\s+";

Ah. It was written with swatch-3.1beta in mind. I had too many problems with
other versions, and 3.1beta has that threshold support too which is pretty
cool.

In the end I dropped the $timestamp_regex references anyway: they didn't
work reliably in my environment as our syslog server is logging rather more
detail than Parse::Syslog can handle. In the end I had to preprocess my
syslog stream before piping it into swatch - now it works beautifully
