Hmm, well I've changed it to:

alert tcp $DMZ any  -> !$VALID_REMOTE_NETWORKS any msg:"DMZ host
communicating to an unsupported service";flags:S;tag: session,
10,packets;classtype:successful-admin;sid:1000001;rev:1;reference: url,
/secure/cvename.php?name=1000001;)

Then I rebuilt ACID's cache and forced an alert - still get "(34)Unknown Sig
Name". 

Does the sid have to be defined somewhere else?
