MySQL problem

Mike I didn't dig too deep into your MySQL message, but be aware that user@* is different that user@localhost. If you are running snort on the same box as the MySQL session, you will need to give the username for snort access specifically from user@localhost. MySQL Control Center (MyCC) from the MySQL team is a great way to admin your MySQL instance, espcially for setting permissions, argueably one of the toughest parts of running a MySQL DB.
