Snort won't work??? HELP!!

Hi,

We installed snort 1.9 on a completely new installation of RH 8 and got it 
working.  Then we had another box, exact same configs and a brand new 
installation of RH 8 and atempted to install snort 1.9 on that box without 
sucess.  This is the error we reciev

setinst($server); $db->setuser($user); $db->setpass($pass); $db->dbname
($dbname); $db->persist(); $conn = $db->connect(); define
("FULL_DATETIME_FORMAT", "Y-m-d H:i:s"); set_time_limit(1800); require_once
("info-retrieval.php"); ?> 

Is this a MySQL error?  Info is NOT being loged into the db.  Anyone have any 
ideas?  Thanks.
