Error Line => Unknown rule type

I am setting up Snort for the first time. I am trying to create the
alert.ids file in the c:\snort\logs folder.
 
When I type in c:\snort\snort -c c:\snort\snort.conf -l c:\snort\logs -i
2 - I get the following error.
 
Initializing Rule chains...
Error Line c:\snort\snort.onf (1) => Unknown Rule type:
Fatal Error, quitting...
