The easiest way is to make a receive only cable as shown here: http://www.silicondefense.com/techsupport/ro-ethernet.htm <http://www.silicondefense.com/techsupport/ro-ethernet.htm> . The only issue is some hubs/switches won't acknowledge the conneciton unless traffic is received. If that's the case there is a work around using a high-pass filter plugged into the transmit wires, but it's a little more complicated, but there are guides out there.
