MSSQL2K vs MySQL??

All,
I am considering using one of my Microsoft SQL 2000 servers for the database for SNORT, has anyone tried this?
how about SNORT on windows 2K and SQL 2K
or SNORT on Linux and SQL 2K?


Ideas? comments?
