Use the create_mysql from the contrib folder within the snort source code. It has the correct syntax. Those directions you are reading are directing you to a version that has a ton of syntax errors that don't work with the current version of mysql. Subject: [Snort-users] Mysql difficulties.. I am using the Snort Install manual Version 1.5. Maybe I am missing the boat somewhere but I have follwed it to the letter up until pg 19 where I am creating database tables. For some reason I am getting the following when I do the following [root@sao-lx2 root]# mysql -h sao-lx2 -u root -p Enter password: Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or \g. Your MySQL connection id is 3 to server version: 3.23.52 Type 'help;' or '\h' for help. Type '\c' to clear the buffer. mysql> connect snort Connection id: 4 Current database: snort mysql> source create_mysql ERROR 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax near '[schema] ( vseq NUMERIC(10,0) NOT NULL, ctime ' at line 1 mysql> Any help would be appreciated. I have attached the source script I am using off of sourceforge.
