Thomas, Be SURE to remove any files related with an old install of WinPcap, and you most likely will need to manually remove them, then reboot, and then install the latest install for WinPcap. I think the main file is packet.dll. Do a search for that and remove every one. -Michael -- Michael Steele | System Engineer / Support Technician mailto:michaels () silicondefense com Silicon Defense: IDS solutions - http://www.silicondefense.com Snort: Open Source Network IDS - http://www.snort.org -----Original Message----- From: snort-users-admin () lists sourceforge net [mailto:snort-users-admin () lists sourceforge net] On Behalf Of Thomas T. I then tried using the inf file that comes with Packet2K to install it. still no success. Thomas T. I just got Packet2k from packetstorm today. I used the inf file to install it. Packet.dll and packet.sys are sitting in the snort directory. Wpcap.dll is in the winnt\system32 directory. When I try to do anything with snort I get The procedure entry point PacketSetDumpName could not be located in the dynamic link library packet.dll Any ideas? Thanks Thomas T.
