Nope! Sorry, I hadn't remembered that the convention was # to represent a root prompt. I'm starting the executable as root. If I run the command without the "-u snort -g snort", then it works fine. Thanks though! Andy
Andy, Might it be that you're starting it as a user (the $ prompt instead of #)? Since the binary is being executed in that manner, you wouldn't have the rights you'd need to open the interface promisc, right...? Gene
