Make sure you have the correct compliled version of snort, as previously noted if you have the snort binary that is compliled for MySql and you are trying to use it with a MSSql back end it won't work. Cliff
I don't have that file on my snort box and it's running fine. From a search on google, it looks like that file is used for some sort of Microsoft SQL client access. Are you trying to log to a Microsoft SQL Server?? -Russ -----Original Message----- From: Mike Ellis [mailto:mellis () unctv org] Sent: Monday, September 16, 2002 12:21 PM To: snort-users () lists sourceforge net Subject: [Snort-users] Snort for Windows problem Hello all, I have seen a couple of messages posted regarding problems running Snort in the Windows environment, and I would like to add my problem. I installed snort 1.8.7 and winpcap 2.3, and attempted to run snort. When I ran it, though, I got an error Unable to Locate DLL. In particular, the error message was "The dynamic link library ntwdblib.dll could not be found in the specified path" with my path displayed after that text. Does anyone have any idea where I can obtain the dll in question? I do not have it and have not been able to locate it anywhere else. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks, Mike Ellis
